Excitement and Magic

On Thursday afternoon we picked the boys up from school and headed south to Galveston.  When Micah asked where we were going, we just told him we were going on a road trip.  He seemed excited just to get to watch movies in the car and stay at a hotel.  He had no clue we were getting on a cruise ship the next day.

After eating breakfast and driving around the island Friday morning, Tom wanted to stop at Starbucks for some coffee.  Silas was napping in the backseat and the parking lot was blocked off for the upcoming Mardi Gras festivities.  So, Tom ran in quickly to the coffee shop and I circled the block a couple times.  During our aimless drive, we accidentally passed the port where the Disney Magic was docked.  Micah's eyes got big and he started talking 90-to-Nothing about the Disney cruise ship he saw on tv.  I thought our surprise was over.  I somehow played it down and didn't give in and tell him that we were getting on the ship.

We circled back, picked up Tom and made our way to the parking lot for the port.

This is Micah's reaction after we finally gave in and told him we were getting on the cruise ship.

Once we got to our room, they were just a little excited! Thrilled! Over Joyed!

We enjoyed the Set Sail Party on deck 10 with several of the characters.

At first Micah didn't want anything to do with the characters.  He was more interested in the waterslide.

About six trips down the waterslide soaked him to the bone and he was freezing in the 68 degree Galveston weather.
Back to the room we went. Dried off, warmed up and curious about the balcony, these boys were happy!

My next post will include all of the photos we took with the characters.

Toodles!
