Over the weekend we traveled to Grenada, Mississippi to visit with my family, the same crew that came to stay with us over Thanksgiving. For New Year's Eve, we rode out the multiple storms that came through at my parents house. Talk about a slumber party. All 13 of us spent the night at my parents 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. The night ended with my mom yelling out, "Goodnight, John-boy". The following morning may have been out of chronological order, but who says you have to celebrate Christmas before New Year's? We started the new year off with opening Christmas presents since we thought we'd made the kids wait long enough. For lunch we were back on the right schedule. We gobbled up the traditional New Year's lunch: ham, black eyed peas, cornbread, and cabbage. And by Saturday afternoon we were celebrating our third event- Karen's 40th Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Big Sis!
I'll be back soon with pictures. My computer is ancient and doesn't recognize the memory card for my new camera. Fortunately, Tom's computer will read the memory cards, but his computer rarely picks up the wireless signal long enough for me to upload anything. Next Tuesday, we're getting a new service provider, so hopefully things will be a little easier at least until I cave in and buy a new computer.
